Dr. Moritz Leschinsky, wood scientist, working since 2010 for the Fraunhofer Society as Group leader for the pretreatment and fractionation of renewable feedstocks. He was strongly involved in the setup of the new Fraunhofer Center for Chemical-Biotechnological processes and was responsible for the conception, implementation and operation of the Organosolv pilot plant at Fraunhofer CBP. He studied wood science and technology at the University of Hamburg with a specialization in wood chemistry and chemical wood technology (1999-2006). He obtained his PhD in 2009 at Lenzing AG in Austria on combined biorefinery and dissolving pulp production under supervision of Prof. Herbert Sixta. He has been Project Engineer in the R&D department of Lenzing AG (2009-2010).
